Director Roger Gore established the Bloodflix Pitch Contest not only to find the best new horror screenwriters, but also to make the best new horror feature film.
Yes, Gore is really Roger's last name, as horror fans know from his landmark film "White or Dark," which remains unequaled in the fear and loathing it inspired. (Many moviegoers -- and most critics -- couldn't handle it.)
Over 1,700 written pitches were submitted, from which Roger selected five Finalists to be flown to his home town of Baltimore, Maryland, for an intimate weekend retreat. Each Finalist will pitch verbally not only to Roger but also to a financier brought in by Roger.
Roger will announce the Winner at the retreat. The cash prizes are $1,000 for each Finalist, with $10,000 for the Winner who will write their script. But the biggest prize is funding of up to $10M to produce the winning feature.
